How is the bio-scan conducted?
The bio-scan introduces electric signals of very low intensity (direct electric current of 1.28v to the interstitial fluid of the body by means of 6 electrodes.

The process is totally painless and has no negative effects. 22 scans of the body are repeated 3 times.

The results of the bio scan are collected by a computer, which evaluates the test results. Subsequent follow up scans can evaluate the effectiveness of any therapy, new or already in place.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to have the scan?
No, you do not need a referral.

Who can have the scan?
Anyone can.

Are there any exceptions where a person cannot have the scan?
Yes, the only people who cannot have the scan are those with pacemakers or those with metallic plates and pins in their body.

If I consider myself healthy, should I still consider having the scan?
Yes. The scan can predict areas of risk well ahead of the development of disease thus enabling preventative action.

If I am currently on medication would the scan be useful?
Yes, as it can monitor the progress of your treatment.

How often would I need a scan?
We recommend a healthy person should have the scan once a year. A person undergoing treatment would need a scan every 3 to 6 months depending on the situation and type of therapy.

How long does it take to have the scan?
The first scan takes approximately 1 hour or more depending on the complexity of the case. All follow ups are approximately 30 minutes.

How do I prepare for the test?
In order for the test to be reliable you need to make the following preparation:

  • No alcohol 24 hours prior to the test
  • Best to be fasted (no solids at least 4 hours before your test)
  • Do not rush to get to the test. You need to be as relaxed as you can

Do I need to book an appointment for the scan?
Yes, you do need to book an appointment.
